Please vote and help save the Tripa peat swamp forests in Indonesia that are home to some of the last populations of the Sumatran orangutan.
We need your vote for a three minutes documentary that Paneco Foundation has just posted on You Tube for the World Bank contest on "Climate change". The documentary is called "The dark side of a green fuel". It describes the implication of agro-fuel development (Palm-oil) on peat swamp forest for local livelihood.
Please take a look at the documentary and if you like it vote for it. The documentary is available for view and vote at http://go.worldbank.org/2DUKUA7IW0 (no. 23).
We strongly need your vote as this documentary was only put today on the website (far after the others) and the deadline for voting is soon (27 October at 9.a.m.).
Note that your vote will help us in the broader campaign to save Tripa peat swamp forests in Indonesia that are host of the last remaining populations of critically endangered orang-utans. These forest are also the main unprotected carbon stock that could worth much more by being preserved.
Please share the link with your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours so that they can vote for the film.
If you want to know a bit more about Tripa, please read this article from the British newspaper the Telegraph published on 20 October 2008.
