Maya Lin, world-renowned artist and designer debuted her latest work, "Unchopping a Tree" at the Support REDD+ Gala, organised by the Coalition for Rainforest Nations as part of the COP15 conference in Copenhagen this week. The video is the latest in a series of works from Lin and links deforestation and sustainable reforestation with reducing carbon emissions and protecting endangered species and habitats. In addition to showing the film, Maya to an audience of heads of state and environmental NGOs, Ms. Lin will honour seven organisations that have been awarded grants for their efforts to protect forests and support and implement REDD. We are delighted to announce that one of these organisations is our sister organisation Yayorin (Yayasan Orangutan Indonesia) who are awarded for their involvement in our EC project “Conservation and sustainable management of lowland forests of south Central Kalimantan, Indonesia”.
