NEW GUARD POST CONSTRUCTED IN LAMANDAU WILDLIFE RESERVE!

Face to Face: With the Great Apes
In 60 fascinating photo portraits, the two nature photographers, Anup Shah and Fiona Rogers, show chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, and bonobos in close-ups taken in the animals' natural environment. For this, the renowned and multi-award-winning wildlife photographers lived together with the apes in the jungle for a long time and built up an intimate relationship of trust. Only in this way was it possible to capture these intimate portraits of the wild animals.

ORANGUTAN CARING WEEK

Orangutan Caring Week is a chance to collectively recognise the need for orangutan conservation. This year’s theme is ‘Orangutans Leading the Way: One Planet, One Future’.

With only 800 individuals left in the wild, the Tapanuli orangutan is the most endangered species of orangutan - and with recent floods in Sumatra many individuals have gone missing. Orangutan Foundation has sent emergency funding to Scorpion Foundation who work to conserve Tapanuli orangutans in Northern Sumatra, to help rebuild the facilities destroyed by the flood.
